A quick video glimpse of the Art House exhibition held in 2009 at the Salon Des Amis gallery in Malvern, PA. Betsy Alexander and her husband, Burnell Yow! – both artists and collectors – curated the exhibit upon a request from gallery owner and director, Robin Hotchkiss. Hotchkiss had come across a recent article by features writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Paul Jablow. His article, titled “Art House,” featured the couple’s home in Center City, Philadelphia, along with their six cats and three floors of their floor-to-ceiling art collection. B&B, as their friends refer to them, decided it would be fun to pull together a show of new work from a number of the artists already represented in their eclectic collection. What they ended up with was over 100 works by 46 artists. B&B also thought it would great to display them in the gallery as they displayed their collection in their home. Hotchkiss agreed. Hence the title of the show.
