“About To Fly” © Burnell Yow! – My wife, Betsy Alexander, loves many things. That’s just who she is. She loves me, of course, but also loves our cats, her students, music, our friends, jewelry, art (boy, does she love art!), and her new blue glittery shoes. She also loves science, outer space, robots, quantum physics, fractals, and on and on. So when I opened a recent photo I had taken of her lying on a bench and wearing the aforementioned blue shoes, my imagination began to take over and I put her where I think she’d truly like to be: about to fly high above the earth.
