Automatic Drawings

The artist Paul Klee described his drawing process as “taking a line for a walk.” I’ve always loved that phrase, and it fits perfectly my own attitude toward the process of creating my free-form automatic drawings, which for me is akin to meditation. Drawn without any preconceived notion, the lines and shapes flow out as the pen tip moves across the paper.
