Compositions
Teacher/composer Elizabeth A. Alexander, known to her students as Betsy and in the theatre world as simply E. A., began her exploration of the piano at the age of four. Her private students range in age from three years to seventy, and her teaching skills encompass piano, voice, composition and guitar. Her life-long enthusiasm for music and for the sharing of that music through teaching has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children and adults over the years.

Dear Sky:
W O W ! ! ! You are quite a fantastic composer! I like to write music too. But I’m a little older than you are. I am 48 & 1/2 years old. I write most of my music for the tuba. It is the instrument I love to play the most.
I was wondering: how old we’re you when you first started playing piano?
Wondering #2: What piece of music will you compose next?
I wonder these things because I am a dad and an elementary school music teacher. My daughter is eleven and has been playing piano since she was in first grade. I L O V E to hear about kids playing and creating music! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Hazel:
So sorry to hear about Patcey. My dog Kayla was very sick and she died too. I was very sad for a long time. We also have cats. My daughter has a cat who’s name is Buddy. He will let you pet him for a while. Then, when he is ready to stop being petted, he will bite you! That is kind of rude, I think! My wife thinks so too. But we sure do love him!
I L O V E your song about Patcey!!! It is a sweet poem that tells the reader a little about her, and the melody you wrote is beautiful! I hope you keep writing lots of music.
Good luck!
